Caesaria (Majak) is a city in the territory of modern Turkey, which previously belonged to the Byzantine Empire. The city was called Caesaria in honor of roman emperors. Before the king Pap (370-374) all the Armenian catholicoses were consecrated and blessed here. At the early Middle Ages the city underwent several desolations from the Persians and Arabic forces. During the 11th and 14th centuries, Caesaria was under the rule of Seljuks and Mongols; in the 15th century it was conquered by Turks.
