Korikos is a harbor fortress in Cilician Armenia, on the coast of the Mediterranean sea, located 45 km north-east from Selevkia. It was founded during the rule of the Selevkian dynasty. During the reign of Toros the Second in 1145-59 years Korikos reunited with Cilician Armenia. In 1206 the king Levon the D\First comletely finished its construction. After 1210 the governor of Korikos was Vahram. After the death of the king Levon, Vahram tried to become the governor but Konstantin Gundstable sentenced him to death and gave Korikos to his brother Oshin. The latter continued building of Korikos till his death – letting all the luxury and hamlet city-fortress to his son – Grigor. The walls of the sea-fortress are still standing.There are buildings, churches and fortresses and other architectural complexes remained here in Korikos. Today the Turks call the ruins of Korikos Qorkos.
