The village of Oshakan is situated in Aragatsotn region. It has more than 5000 citizens and is located 6 kilometers far from Ashtarak, 25 kilometers far from Yerevan. One of the biggest and most important sacred places of Armenia are located here - the mausoleum of the creator of the Armenian alphabet - Mesrop Mashtots, whose body was buried here by trout Vahan Amatuni. His grave is located close to the church after Mesrop mashtots name. This location is a touristic important sight. Here there are international symposiums and seminars held including a fest called "Targmanchats".
